iPHOS Phosphorus Recovery

Recovering phosphorus – rethinking sustainability

With iPHOS, you recover phosphorus efficiently onsite and meet legal requirements without a third party — sustainably and economically.

Process description

This is how iPHOS works:

iPHOS reductively remobilizes phosphate from iron phosphates in activated excess sludge.
After slight acidification and heavy-metal separation, the sludge and the released phosphate are separated.
The released phosphate is precipitated as struvite.
The sludge follows your current treatment scheme.

How iPHOS comes to you

Find out in a three-stage process if your sludge can be treated with iPHOS:

1.

Basic analysis

How much phosphorus can iPHOS mobilize in your sludge, and can you achieve a phosphorus recovery according to the legal requirements?

2.

Detailed analysis

Site specific quantification of the chemical demand for iPHOS at your wastewater treatment plant.

3.

Mobile system on site

iPHOS demonstrates its suitability at your wastewater treatment plant treating sludge from 5,000 population equivalents.

Your benefits

Independent: You meet legal requirements for phosphorus recovery without any third party
Flexible: Sewage sludge can be incinerated in any treatment facility. There is no subsequent P recycling from ash necessary.
Efficient: iPHOS significantly improves sludge dewaterability.
Sustainable: The precipitated phosphate can be used as struvite fertilizer.
